We at Mental Rev are very
excited about our distribution plan for The Third Wave.
Our goals are multi-tiered, but we will try to provide a
brief overview of the first tier of our overall goal.
We feel this film is best used in a class room setting.
We are not concentrating exclusively on the number of people
who see the film, although that is important, but rather
how we can get this film into an environment of critical
discussion and debate. The class room is an interesting
and, in our experience, proven setting for intellectual
fervor. So we want to get DVDs into the hands of people
who will show the film in a class room setting, and who
will provide a stimulating environment for critical thought.
The first goal is to raise money to send DVDs to every Women’s
Studies Department in the country, around 434 in total,
with a letter encouraging professors to show the film in
class and facilitate discussion. Furthermore the first tier
of our goal involves printing an additional 70 DVDs to send
to strategic student groups, with a letter encouraging more
public screenings.
Over 1,200 groups and organizations either
contributed to the rally, or sent folks to the March for
Women's Lives. The second tier of our goal is to get DVDs
to each of these groups, with a letter encouraging public
screenings and thanks for their efforts.
In order to pay a frugal salary for the Directors and Producers,
as well as cover the remaining Production, Printing and
Equipment costs to reach our first goal we need to raise
$10,000. If this plan has merit to you, then please make
a small contribution. You can simply click the donate button
on the bottom of the page. If you or your organization is
interested in making a fairly substantial donation, have
any questions, or are interested in becoming an Associate
Producer please contact cutcher@ohio.edu
or roger@mentalrev.com
